A terrifying tumble sent a blackbuck to the bottom of a massive 55-foot-deep well with no way to climb out. The only thing to stop him from drowning in the murky water that filled about half the well was a narrow ledge.

Luckily, a kind person spotted the panicked antelope and called Animal Rahat for help.

The blackbuck is tiny compared to the massive well he’s trapped in.

The team descended into the well and sedated him to calm his nerves and make it easier to save him from his predicament.

The team climbed into the well to help the trapped animal.

They gently secured him in a nylon bag …

The blackbuck was sedated and put into a nylon bag for rescue.

… and carefully hoisted him to safety.

Thankfully, beyond a slightly wounded knee, which a skilled veterinarian patched up, the blackbuck was in good shape and was soon bounding away back into his natural habitat.
