Always looking for opportunities to share the Compassionate Citizen program with young learners, staff worked with the Rajarambapu Institute of Technology to present a special humane education course at its workshop for kids. The children were enthusiastic about doing things to help animals, such as celebrating a firework-free Diwali that spares animals the trauma of explosions and not using glass-coated kite string, which cuts through birds’ wings. They “oohed” and “aahed” at our rescue videos—which are important, as several students who’ve taken this course remembered what they’d learned and later called the team to help animals in trouble.
