Finally able to form friendships and escape toil, ponies Badshah (left) and Ajay (right) revel in each other’s company.

Ponies Ajay, Vijay, Sapna, Rohan, and Badshah and bullock Sohan will never, ever have to haul heavy carts through Delhi’s chaotic, phenomenally congested streets again! Today, they’re free to run, roll in the sand, and graze to their heart’s content at the Ranapur sanctuary. Most of the bullocks, ponies, and horses at this haven have been rescued, thanks to PETA India’s Delhi Mechanization Project, which recently saved its 150th “beast of burden.” Welcome home, friends!
