Twenty-five children and their teachers were taken on a captivating adventure to the Sangli sanctuary to meet up with wise old camels and gentle donkeys and learn how to groom a sweet little pony, who seemed to enjoy their excited chatter. These young visitors were taught compassion and discovered the beauty of these now-cherished animal friends. The residents were the students’ favorite teachers—they showed the children that love, care, and connection are universal languages spoken by all living, feeling beings.
