The photo above of this beautiful cow was taken on a life-changing day for her—the day her nose rope was removed. The noses of most cows and bullocks are pierced at a very young age, and then the animals spend every waking minute of the rest of their lives feeling the constant pain and pressure of a rope that goes through their septum and is tied tightly behind their ears.

Animal Rahat persuaded the cow’s owner to remove the nose rope (that’s it in his left hand) and replace it with a morkee (halter). Thanks to the group’s outreach last month, 39 other cows and bullocks were also freed from these horrible devices. Imagine their relief!
