The scratches visible on the concrete walls of a deep water tank were a grim sign of how determined Brinda was to get out.

A passerby heard her panicked cries and quickly called the local police—who then met Animal Rahat rescuers at the scene.

After the rescue team gently pulled the dog out, they noticed blood oozing from her paws. Poor Brinda had been struggling so hard to free herself that she had ripped her paw pads open!

While Animal Rahat’s team worked to stop Brinda’s bleeding and disinfect the ragged wounds caused by her ordeal, local police set to work covering the tank’s opening to prevent more animals from becoming hopelessly trapped. She was taken to Animal Rahat’s office to recover, and the team vaccinated and sterilized her before giving her a ride home.
