Animal Rahat’s Sangli unit first spotted this cow wandering the streets months ago, but each time the team tried to help her, she ran away. As the months went on, her curled horns grew longer and began pressing into her face. Finally, last month, the team succeeded in catching her.

After calming her down, they anesthetized her, cut the horn tips from both sides of her face, treated the puncture in her jaw bone caused by one of the horns, and administered a painkiller. In a discussion with Animal Rahat, the cow’s owner conceded that he wasn’t able to care for her properly and relinquished custody.

The team then transported her to Animal Rahat’s sanctuary, where she’s adapting well.
