While scouting in the Pandharpur district for animals in need of help, an Animal Rahat staffer spotted this dog limping and clearly in pain. He managed to track down the dog’s owner, who gratefully accepted Animal Rahat’s offer to remove a tumor that was growing on the pup’s leg. The surgery took two hours, as the tumor was intricately entwined with muscles and ligaments. The growth weighed more than 2 pounds—on a human scale, that would be like dragging around a 10-pound weight attached to your leg!
