Gajja is a big bull, weighing in at around 2,400 pounds. His size is intimidating, but this giant couldn’t be gentler, a trait that his owner reinforces by giving him frequent massages—which builds trust between them. Fortunately, the man was open to learning about other compassionate techniques from Animal Rahat, such as using alternatives to painful nose ropes.

Gajja's owner stands beside him before removing his nose rope.

He hadn’t realized the agony that the nose rope was causing sweet Gajja or that such a painful device wasn’t necessary to control the bull, especially considering how calm he was. Empowered with this new information, he eagerly agreed to remove the nose rope and replace it with a pain-free face harness called a morkee.

Gajja stands next to his owner, who holds the rope that's no longer threaded through the bull's sensitive nose.

But that’s not all—Gajja’s owner has become a vocal advocate for the use of morkees and relationship-building practices like regular grooming.

How does he persuade other animal owners to switch to morkees? By asking them one simple question: “If I can, why can’t you?”
