It’s horrid enough to be forced to haul a cart in the blistering heat, but this pony had the additional burden of being paired with a bullock—which is painful, unworkable, and illegal.

The gaits and shoulder height of the two species obviously don’t match, and ponies, unlike bullocks, can’t bear the weight of a yoke on their neck. This is why tonga ponies and cart horses are fitted with harnesses instead. Worse still, the mismatch in size was forcing her to bear most of the cart’s weight.

Fortunately, Animal Rahat spotted this cart, stopped the driver, and warned him that he was committing a punishable offense. The driver then unhitched the pony and took her home.
